Brian Benni Shares The Terrifying Reason Why His BMW Was Injured

Dharma Benni from Family Karma had a very good reason for wanting to damage his son’s car. In a recent episode, Dharma and his son Brian brought his new BMW to be blessed by an Indian priest.

Going through a ritual that includes blessing the driver and the vehicle itself. Brian walked past the ceremony because he didn’t seem familiar with the ritual. “You buy a new car and you always have to hurt the car to protect the car from all these external dangers,” Dharma explained in a confessional.

At one point the priest puts limes under the wheels of the car. He ordered Brian to drive over the lime. “So you will crush the lime,” Dharma told his son. “It removes evil.” Although the ceremony is light and really funny, the reason behind it is very serious for the family.

Brian shares why this blessing is so important

Brian recently tweeted a picture behind the “reason” for the blessing. “Cause I got the new Car/Momma Benni blessed it,” he shared on Twitter along with a picture. The photo shows a wrecked vehicle, from what appears to be a head-on collision. The front end of the car was bashed and glass and metal covered the road.

Cast member and close friend Amrit Kapai responded, “Oh no!!” The photo is shocking and it appears that the vehicle has sustained extensive damage. Luckily Brian was great. One viewer wrote, “Oh geez. I hope you’re okay?”

Brian explained, “Yeah, I’m good, it was a freak accident…I’m a phenomenal driver btw call me Dom Toretto.”

This is his first car

Cast member and close friend Monica Vaswani recalled the incident. “It was very bad,” he recalled. Added, “RIP to your first car.” Brian even branded the car. “RIP to Lexie,” he wrote of the damaged Lexus he was driving.

Vaswani then joked, “But.. this car was gutted at FSU before the accident,” Brian agreed and added, “Yeah, @FSU_Barstool got the best of me.” A friend shared his memory of Brian’s car. “I remember when this Lexus ran out of gas in Tally lol.”

Another Twitter follower joked, “Next time use bigger limes.”

Maybe everyone should hurt their cars

Fortunately, Brian can make light of the situation. However, towing your car, especially in South Florida can be a good idea. Miami drivers are cited as one of the worst in the country.

One reason is that Miami drivers are taking anxiety seriously, the Miami New Times reports. “For the past eight years, Miamians have ranked as one of the most stressed populations in America. And being trapped in an overpopulated city without adequate public transportation doesn’t help. Metrorail is so sick that it refers to ‘Metrofail,’ and somehow we still can’t figure out a way to build a train across the bay to South Beach.”

The Benni family lives up north in Broward County. But is driving safer in Broward? Not really. Several cities in Broward made the top 20 most dangerous cities for drivers. This includes Hollywood and Fort Lauderdale.

Family Karma airs Sunday nights at 9 pm / 8 pm Central on Bravo.
