A woman in Hong Kong was trapped in the air while practicing yoga

A 33-year-old woman surnamed Liang (a Mandarin transliteration) was trapped in the air while doing mid-air yoga at self-service yoga room in the commercial center of Hong Kong on Friday (December 27).

According to HK01, she called for help but was initially ignored by people in the corridor.

Fifteen minutes later a an employee from a neighboring unit finally heard her screams and learned about her situation.

Ms. Liang then ordered the employee to open the door using the password, but the employee was unable to do so.

They were also unable to contact the owner of the building, so they had no choice but to call the police.

To save Ms. Liang, they had no choice but to break in.

According to the employee who witnessed the rescue, the victim was hanging two meters from the floor and was twice entangled in a yoga strap that was tightly wrapped around her waist.

She also noted that there was a phone on the stand next to Ms. Liang.

In addition, the employee said that even if she had been able to enter the block, she would not have been able to disentangle the victim.

The victim felt dizzy and had lower back pain

After the rescue, Ms. Liang complained dizziness and pain in the lower back.

Fortunately, after being treated at the scene, she did not need to be sent to the hospital, Ming Pao said.

Toby Siu, founder of the Yoga Academy in Hong Kong, cautions yoga practitioners not to practice aloneas an instructor or student.

She noted that performing complex movements that require the tissue to wrap around the body multiple times can result in a lack of blood flow, death of muscle tissue, or death from suffocation.

In addition, she stressed that students should not try new yoga moves without the guidance of a qualified instructor.
