Twentysomethings, Brian Benni and Monica Vaswani from Bravo’s Family Karma could take their friendship to the next level.
The younger cast members seem to be toying with the notion of dating and Benni’s mother, Dharma seems ready for these crazy kids too. “I think Brian and Monica should really date,” Dharma Benni said in a confessional as she looked off into the distance.
Benni’s parents revealed that unlike their friends, they did not have an arranged marriage. They met at school, dated and fell in love. Of course, Benni’s parents want him to get married, which could be one reason why Vaswani could be the perfect match for their son.
Benni and Vaswani have a close relationship
Benni and Vaswani seem to have had some near-miss dating opportunities in the past. He likes her but wants to stay in the friendzone. But then he wants to date her and she’s unavailable. “So we’ve always been complicated back and forth like that,” Benni said in a confessional.
Needless to say, their relationship is complicated. “Brian and I have known each other since we were kids and we share a very happy friendship,” she told Showbiz Cheat Sheet. “When you’ve known someone for 15 plus years, there’s a level of comfort you have with each other. I’m not keeping up with him because he got me.”
Benni added, the two are very close. “Monica and I know each other inside and out and you’ll have to keep watching to see how our relationship unfolds,” he teased.
Both are close to their parents
While many young Indians stay at home until they get married, Benni says she doesn’t wait until she gets married to move out. “My parents and I are super close and I’m an open book with them, so we’re all very vocal about what works and what doesn’t work as you get older living together,” she shares. “I’m definitely moving out soon and won’t be home until the wedding.”
Cameras also captured the state of Benni’s room, much to his mother’s dismay. “Laundry will always be a challenge for me but now there are many services to help with that … one day I will be good at laundry,” she said.
Vaswani is also very close to his parents. They are separated and she has a sweet relationship with her father. “My father is my rock,” she said. “I learned as I got older that no matter what concerns I brought on his plate, he got me. No judgement, a little reading, lots of love and some guidance is her magical parenting formula.
Also, “My mom taught me how to have an insane work ethic and be completely financially independent,” she continued. “It was a hard lesson to learn but I couldn’t be more blessed to have learned it from such a strong woman. He is goals. After my parent’s divorce, I had to learn how to balance my time between giving enough love and attention to my parents. At this point, I told them that my master plan is to buy them two condos in the same building across from each other so that I can be one stop!”
